The Wujiaochang shopping district, offering up everything from Pizza Hut and Wal-Mart to Starbucks — all only a few blocks away from the Fudan campus. The egg-shaped object above hovers over a subterranean square at the intersection of four extremely busy streets, providing a kind of pedestrian crossroads in the midst of rushing automobiles.
