Rockefeller U.

This 'Design for a Book Plate', from the February 26th, 1903 issue of Life, is a not-so-veiled slur against my alma mater. At a time when America's first millionaire sought to burnish his reputation by funding a new research university, skepticism abounded. Not unlike those who see ulterior motives behind the philanthropic causes of the billionaires of today, Life suggested Rockefeller's true intentions were "let there be light -- at my price."
