Drove 550 miles today, from Oregon to northern California. About the only spot of trouble was barrelling down the Cascades through a rainstorm and accidently knocking the key out of position with my knee at around 65mph. Once I realized what had happened (no dashboard lights or heater fan, but car still moving) I quickly re-started the ignition and everything came back to life.
Side note: the Motel 6 in Albany, Oregon is clean, comfortable and offers a microwave, refrigerator and in-room high-speed ethernet for $44.
