Sometimes your favorite pictures from a trip come where you least expect them -- in this case, the new wing of the Paris airport. Due to a snafu, my flight from Stockholm arrived too late to allow me to board the plane to San Francisco, so I killed a few hours taking pictures while I waited for a CDG>JFK>SFO itinerary. (Luckily, they upgraded me to business class over the Atlantic.)
The terminal is a soaring space, with long arched causeways and passages that remind you of a nautilus. The ceiling over the retail section looked like it was formed by concrete poured against wooden planks -- the reverse imprint of the boards was still visible.
Strangely, nobody questioned me while I was setting up a tripod to take high-resolution photos of areas quite near the security gates.
