This rather grim cellphone picture is all that I was able to take from last night's David Byrne concert in Stockholm. I was sure that taking my Canon would be a waste of time, but incredibly enough there was next to no security or bag-checking of any kind. In fact, I was about 10 feet in front of him the entire evening. The venue was Berns, a famous restaurant and performance hall. It's true what they say: everything is smaller-scale in Sweden.
All in all, a terrific concert in a very intimate setting, with a mixture of songs from the Talking Heads era, Rei Momo, as well as newer operatic and string-based pieces.
