For our literature seminar this quarter we're reading the Danish author Thorkild Hansen's novels Slavernes Skibe and Slavernes Kyst, both of which describe Denmark's involvement in the slave trade between Europe, the Danish West Indies, and North America. Denmark's Caribbean possessions eventually ended up as a part of America, renamed the US Virgin Islands.
