It’s hard to miss the statue of John William Mackay outside his namesake building on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.
What I hadn’t noticed till this year’s holiday visit was that the sculptor was Gutzon Borglum, (in)famous for being the artist behind both Mount Rushmore and the Stone Mountain monument in Atlanta.
