During an involuntarily-extended layover at DCA, I walked through historic Terminal 1. When I was living in DC and flying every week for work, I never really had a chance to spend time in this original portion of the airport. As my flight was delayed by an increasing number of hours, I had time to not only photograph the space but also to visit the nearby exhibition gallery, which covered the history of the area from its origins as Gravelly Point.
